The new Affymetrix genotyping lab was opened wednesday 19th September at CIGENE.
Present at the ribbon cutting was Demaris Mills (VP Beckman Coulter Life Science Europe) and Ruud Husman (Sr Dist Manager Beckman Coulter Life Science).
The refurbished lab is home to 5 Gene Titan genotyping platforms (ThermoFisher) and 5 hybrid pipetting robots from Beckman Coulter) including 2 flagship i7 models. The state-of-the-art genotyping platform at CIGENE aims to process 400,000 samples per year, generating a staggering 20 Billion genotypes which will be used to improve breeding programs and address critical research questions.
