The 7th International Symposium on Genomics in Aquaculture (GIA) too place in Thessaloniki, Greece on 22-24 May 2024. The GIA covers a broad range of research fields applying cutting-edge omics tools and aims to bring together leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals in the field of Genomics in Aquaculture. The symposium aims to provide an inspiring environment for networking, sharing ideas, and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations.
This year, the symposium was attended by Domniki Manousi and Christiaan Henkel from CIGENE.
Domniki presented a poster titled “Dissecting the genetic basis underlying response against salmonid alphavirus in Atlantic salmon”, whilst Christiaan delivered a talk about the ongoing SALMOCODE project that aims to map organs and cells for the optimal development of salmon embryos (see image left; talk title: “SALMOCODE: A single-cell atlas of Atlantic salmon organogenesis”).
